Refund Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Refund Policy explains when and how BCE Ventures LLC ("BCE Ventures", "we", "our", or "us") issues refunds for fees paid in connection with our business consulting and management advisory services (the "Services"). It is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to fees paid under a written engagement letter or master services agreement between you and BCE Ventures (an "Engagement Agreement"). The Website itself is provided to you free of charge and is not subject to refund.
2. How fees are structured
Fees for the Services are agreed in writing before work begins and generally take one of the following forms:
- Fixed-fee engagements: a defined scope of work delivered for a single agreed amount.
- Retainer engagements: a recurring monthly or periodic amount for ongoing advisory availability and defined recurring deliverables.
- Milestone-based engagements: fees billed against specific deliverables or phases.
- Time-based engagements: fees billed based on time recorded against the engagement at an agreed rate.
The specific fee structure, refund eligibility, and cancellation rules for each engagement are set out in the relevant Engagement Agreement. Where this Policy and the Engagement Agreement conflict, the Engagement Agreement controls.
3. Cancellation by the client
You may cancel an active engagement at any time by giving us written notice to hello@bcev.net. The following refund treatment applies, unless the Engagement Agreement provides otherwise:
- Fixed-fee engagements: if no work has begun, you are entitled to a full refund. If work has begun, we will charge a reasonable pro-rata amount for the work performed and for non-cancellable third-party costs already incurred on your behalf, and refund the balance.
- Retainer engagements: cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees paid for the current period are not refundable, but no further periods will be invoiced.
- Milestone-based engagements: fees for milestones already delivered or substantially in progress are not refundable; unstarted milestones will not be billed.
- Time-based engagements: you are billed only for time already recorded against the engagement up to the effective date of cancellation.
4. Cancellation by BCE Ventures
We may discontinue an engagement if (a) the engagement can no longer be performed in accordance with professional standards, (b) a conflict of interest arises, (c) you materially breach the Engagement Agreement, including non-payment, or (d) continuation would expose either party to legal or reputational risk. In such cases, you will be billed for work performed up to the effective date of termination, and any prepaid unearned fees will be refunded.
5. EU and UK consumer right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and you enter into an Engagement Agreement at a distance (for example, by signing electronically without an in-person meeting), you may have a statutory right to withdraw within fourteen (14) calendar days of concluding the agreement, without giving any reason.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, send a clear written statement to hello@bcev.net within the 14-day period. If you exercise the right, we will refund the payments received from you no later than fourteen (14) days after the day we are informed of your decision.
Important: if you ask us to begin providing the Services during the withdrawal period, you accept that you will pay us a proportionate amount for the Services performed up to the moment you communicate your withdrawal. The right of withdrawal is lost once the Services have been fully performed, where performance began with your express prior consent and your acknowledgement that you would lose your right of withdrawal once the contract is fully performed.
6. Refund method and timing
Refunds are made to the original payment method, where technically possible. Bank transfers are refunded to the originating account. Allow up to fourteen (14) business days for the refund to appear in your account after we have approved it; processing times depend on your payment provider.
Currency conversion losses, payment-provider fees, and similar third-party charges associated with the original payment are not refundable.
7. Non-refundable items
The following are not eligible for refund, except as required by mandatory law:
- Time already spent and work product already delivered.
- Non-cancellable third-party services, licences, or fees procured at your request for the engagement.
- Administrative or setup fees expressly identified as non-refundable in the Engagement Agreement.
8. Chargebacks
We ask that you contact us first if you believe a charge is incorrect or that a refund is due. Initiating a chargeback with your card issuer or bank before discussing the matter with us may delay resolution and may constitute a material breach of the Engagement Agreement.
9. Disputes
If we cannot resolve a refund question informally, the dispute resolution and governing-law provisions of our Terms of Service apply, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Changes apply to engagements entered into after the effective date; existing engagements continue to be governed by the Policy that was in effect when the Engagement Agreement was signed.
